Agrarian trade gap deepened to 16.6 bil. in half a year

The Czech Republic showed a gap in trade with agrarian and food goods of 16.6 billion crowns in this year´s first half a year. A year-on-year increase amounted to 1.3 billion crowns. Agrarian import grew by 1.5 percents to 68.2 billion CZK; export decreased by a half percent to 51.6 billion crowns. It results from data provided to ČTK by the Agricultural Union of the CR. The deficit of agrarian foreign trade is negative continuously since 1993.

Senate gave chance to owners of non-settled shares in former JZD

The Senate supported a new way of settlement of shares in former agricultural cooperatives today. The draft law counts on the fact that owners could ask for till this time non-settled shares for one year. If they do not attain them, they could apply their claim for financial compensation at the Ministry of Agriculture which would exact the shares subsequently in installments during three years. The senators did not support a proposal for refusal of this draft law entered by a senator Jan Hajda (ČSSD).

Minister Fuksa opened exhibition Země Živitelka in České Budějovice today

The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa together with the president of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus participated in opening of the 37th year of the international exhibition Země Živitelka (Earth Breadwinner) today. On this occasion, he ceremonially gave certificates of the national mark KLASA to representatives of seven food producers and appreciated also young scientific workers and the best realized research and development result in 2010.

Klaus: It is necessary to cut also in agriculture at time of crisis

At time of crisis of the economy and public finances, agriculture can stay aside of cuts in the state budget. The state should help to this area, however, it should dealt with the highest efficiency of management here. The president VáclavKlaus said it at today´s opening of agri-exhibition Země Živitelka (Earth Breadwinner) in České Budějovice. He said to journalist that he was aware of how much the external condition influence agriculture.
