Government will enjoin where you must not grow corn and potatoes

The government will significantly tighten conditions for growing of corn, potatoes or beet on almost half of arable land in the country from the next year. These crop-plants help to land erosion, so field in heavy rains are not able to keep water which subsequently together with mud pour on roads, in villages and brooks. Like it happened during August floods in North Bohemia.

FAO called together extraordinary meeting owing to cereals price growth on 24th of September

¨The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of UNO called an extraordinary meeting of its intergovernmental committee for cereals on the 24th of September today. The UNO agency reacts to a significant growth of cereals prices which invokes fears from repeating of food crisis two years ago. A FAO spokesman, Christopher Matthews stated that the meeting will probably take place in Roma head-office of the organization.

Famous North-Bohemian ponds near Černá Voday have been renewed thanks to Lesy ČR

Lesy ČR has recently finished a unique project of reconstruction and modernization of a historical pond system near North-Bohemian village Černá Voda in the district Jeseník in the region Olomouc. They secured new dams in the ponds Matečný, Mokrý and Nad Velkým, a fortification of barks, new drainage pond outlets, and building of two islands. The named adjustments cost more than 4.5 million crowns.

Milk production will not be higher without quotas

It is not possible to identify yet how milk production will develop in the EU after a termination of quota force. In one new estimation experts from Netherlandish university in Wageningen came to a conclusion that despite of many fears it should not be influence anyhow significantly. Their estimation was based on information from OECD and FAO prognosis.
