Medvedev: Ban of cereals export will be maybe cancelled before year-end
Russian president Dmitrij Medveděv repeated that a ban of cereals export from Russia could be cancelled even before the 31st of December, so before the term by which the ban should be in force according to the government decision. Medveděv´s words very differ from the last expression of the premiere Vladimir Putin who told last week that the cereals export will be able to be renewed first after termination of the next year´s harvest.
SZPI has inspected 313 firms after floods and has not found problems
Inspectors of the State Agricultural Veterinary Administration (SZPI) have not found any damaged foods after August floods in shops and manufacturing plants in Liberec and Ústí regions. All had been liquidated, a spokeswoman of SZPI, Martina Šmídtová, said to ČTK. The Inspection has checked 313 firms. Larger inspection have been made in the region Liberec where they concerned 188 firms; in the region Ústí 125 plants have been checked,
Olomouc dairy works Olma has extricated from loss
Olomouc dairy works Olma, the second most important Czech milk products producers, extricated from a loss last year. Its economy finished with a net profit 15.7 million crowns; in 2008 Olma showed a loss of 214 million crowns. ČTK obtained this information from an annual report of the firm published in The Companies Register. Olomouc dairy works was overruled by the group Agrofert Holding of the entrepreneur Andrej Babiš at the beginning of last year.
Global cereals consumption will exceed production
According to an actual FAO prognosis, in spite of a decrease of estimation, the global cereals production with 2 238 mil. t. should exceed five-year average. According to the newest prognosis, this year´s global cereals production should be lower by 41 mil. tonnes in comparison with June prognosis (2 238 vs. 2 279 mil. t.). However, despite this decrease it will be the third and above the average of last five years. Owing to bad weather less cereals have been harvested in Russia and countries around Black sea, FAO presented.
