Milk market waits for big changes

Minister of Agriculture: we will prepare Budvar and Lesy for stock exchange

The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa (ODS) considers that the state would give the state firm Lesy %CR and the national enterprise Budějovický Budvar on a stock exchange.In an interview for HN Fuksa described that according to his plan these firm should be transformed to joint-stock companies. The state promises as many as tens of billion crowns in case of Lesy from a later entrance on the exchange. According to HN, layers already prepare background papers for the firm transformation.

According to commissioner only third of EU budget should go to agriculture

According to European budget commissioner Janusz Lewandowsky, only third of the Union budget, and not almost 40 % like today, should go for the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU. The released means would be invested by the EU in research and innovations. The commissioner admitted that a coming discussion about a form of future European budget would be probably the most difficult debate which the European Union had ever passed.

Czech fish production decreased slightly to 20 100 tonnes last year

Czech fish market production decreased to 20 100 tonnes last year from 20 400 tonnes the year before last. Almost 90 % of bred fish were carps. An average annual consumption of fresh-water fish obtained in a production fish farming and a rot and line fishing, according to an estimation of the Fishing Association of the CR, increased to 1.37 kilogram per head last year from foregoing 1.32 kg. It results from a Report on state of water management of the CR in 2009.
