Beware of imports from third countries
Veterinary goods originated from countries which are not EU members, i.e. from so called third countries, is checked in boundary veterinary stations on the outside EU borders; only after it can be admitted into the intracommunitary market. (There is the only one such a boundary veterinary station in the CR, at the airport Praha Ruzyně). Last week, Germany informed the Commission and other EU member states through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) on catching of a delivery of smoked tuna from China in which health certificates were falsed. A part of this delivery should aim also at the CR.
Customers quest for Czech garlic, however, its amount is low and difficult to get
We do not have, we are run out of it. Just this the Czech hear asking for Czech garlic in shops. It is possible to get only Chinese one on shelves, however, it is not so aromatic and in demand. Domestic growers are not able to grow such amount of vegetable to satisfy domestic demand. Customers complain that garlic has lost “garlicness”. That which is available in hypermarkets is less sharp, juicy and inspid. It comes from abroad, mostly from China. Chain stores started to sell it years ago and gradually it pushed away, mainly thanks to its price, the Czech one completely.
Genetic data bank of wild organisms will be founded in CR

The proposal in a minimal version does not count on a building of new center, but suggests only a functional interconnection of databases so that it would be possible to exchange samples reliably, Zima said to journalists today.
