Union dislikes attitude of MZe to common agricultural policy

Agricultural union dislikes the Czech Republic attitude to the future of common agricultural policy of the European Union as was put forward by the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa at a tripartity meeting today. According to unionists the proposal is too compliant. On the contrary, a representative of agricultural entrepreneurs marked the proposal as good and appropriate to the real situation. “The Czech Republic position to a new EU agricultural policy after 2013 is a collection of formulas written perhaps by some clerk in Brussels”, a chairman of the Trade Union of Employees of Agriculture and Nutrition (OSPZV), Bohumír Dufek stated.

Bread will rise in price but not so much as bakers assert

An unescapable rise in price of bakery products will not affect consumers just strongly as bakers assert. Even if they enforced higher bread and rolls prices in bargaining with businessmen, sellers do not increase them so high as in 2007 and 2008. Then bread and pastry were extremely expensive, a roll cost as many as 2.50 crowns. To some extent it was caused also by that traders made the best of the worldwide rise in price of cereals and flour and charged record margins. In December 2007, a margin in bread according to the Entrepreneurial Bakers and Confectioners Association amounted to 40.95 percents of price and in case of white pastry it was 61.66 percents.

State forests pay millions to lawyers. However, none has to know for what

Secrets of Lesy ČR go just against order of the Minister of Agriculture Fuksa who named the firm “a black sheep of state administration”. Reputedly, they are essential. They got millions. However, none has to know who they are and what they do in fact. The state forests, an enterprise with billion possession dissimulates thoroughly why and for how many they rent elite lawyers. And, neither the order of the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa, that Lesy against whose problematic management even the Secrete Service warns, must become a transparent firm, helps. HN have obtained documents according to which a reputable law office Toman, Devátý and partners charged roughly from six to ten millions monthly to Lesy last year.

Inquiry: More than half of Czechs wants to buy milk from automatic machines

More than a half of the Czechs are interested in purchase of fresh milk from automatic machines. It results from an inquiry of a company Dema. A number of milk automatic machines started to raised from the last year´s autumn in the Czech Republic and already more than 150 are in operation now. However, “milkmats” fight for further existence owing to a significant decrease in demand in some regions of the CR. “If a milk automatic machine were placed in a village, a place of residence, or where people go shopping, every second says that he/she would use it”, the company Dema informed ČTK today. Decisively, an automatic machine would be used by 23 percents of interviewed and rather so 30 percent.
