CSO: Bread and pastry raised in price in shops, paprika prices decreased

White buns and rolls have significantly raised in price in domestic shops in last two weeks, by more than seven percents. People paid more also for smooth flour and mineral water. On the contrary they could buy cheaper paprikas, apples and potatoes. It results from data published by the Cuech Statistic Office today. White wheat rolls and buns were sold by sellers at average for 34.10 crowns per kilogram to the October 19 while 14 days ago it was by 2.32 crowns less.

Year will be good, vine-growers asserts in spite of lower harvest

According to vine-growers, neither by a half lower harvest, nor weather, which mainly at time of blossoming did not do good to vine, will not affect this year´s wine quality. “Finally, the quality get at a relatively sufficient level, sugar contents of harvested grapes are at a good level”, a secretary of the Vine-growers Union, Martin Potůček, said to the daily E15. According to him, the problem is the amount when vine-growers know that only about 50 percents of ten-year average will be harvested from vine-yards, so about three tones per hectare. According to an estimation of vine-growers and the Czech Statistic Office, prices of this year´s grapes raised in price by 80 to one hundred percents.

Farmers threaten again with street protests. They want 3 billions from state

Czech farmers could again go in streets, if the state does not pay at least three billion crowns to even up direct payments from the European Union next year. The president of Agrarian Chamber of the CR (ACH CR), Jan Veleba said it to ČTK on Thursday. At present, there is not even one crown to even up direct payments in the budget of agriculture chapter. According to agreements settled before the CR accession into the EU the state could pay off to farmers as many as 4.8 billion crowns in 2011.

Processed cheeses and look on healthy nutrition

Processed cheeses, already a traditional food at present, are in the Czech Republic, despite of their high consumption and popularity, often an object of cursing opinions of experts of all sorts. Quality of soft cheese is very good in nowadays shops. Present melting rooms are fashionably equipped; they have incomparably better hygiene than it used to be before. A raw material for the production - cheeses - is not from cheeses disqualified from cheesed because of quality, but from quality cheeses from Czech or world producers. Cheeses are packaged in sealed plastic film and mechanization excludes a contact with a human hand.
