Minister Fuksa has discussed conception proposal of Lesy ČR management with experts

A round table of forestry experts discussed a conception proposal today according to which Lesy ČR will commission forest growing and timber harvesting in a transparent way in the future. The conception rejects privatization or long-term forest leases but at the same time it does not count on takeover of the care for forests by the state. It stems from a state established by forestry transformation in the 90´s when forestry joint-stock companies were privatized with all property and the state started to commission the care for forests to the private sector. „Even the today´s discussion with experts confirmed that we have found the best solution for the state in the conception as well as for maintenance of good state of our forest“, the Minister Ivan Fuksa summarized two-hour discussion. „I believe that we will manage to set up well the management system in state forests“.

Attitude of Agricultural Union of CR to European Commission communication

“The Common Agricultural Policy till 2020: a solution of future problems in the area of foods, natural resources and area planning”. On the 18th of November 2010, the European Commission published a communication “The Common Agricultural Policy till 2020: a solution of future problems in the area of foods, natural resources and area planning” in which it outlines its ideas on setting up of the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU after 2013 in relation to a strategy Europe 2020. The Agricultural Union welcomes some positive changes in the European Commission attitude to the CAP reform although it states that the published communication is very general for us to be able to evaluate concrete impacts on Czech farmers. On the other hand, we have to strictly reject even some general things, for example implementation of ceilings for direct payments, other transitional period for some countries, an effort not to solve limits for national supports, so called state-aid etc.
