Drobil has definitely buried Bursík´s plan for returnable PET bottles

A lobby of beverage producers and businessmen has gained their point. Years of preparation for advancing of plastic beverage packages end definitely in a rubbish bin. The Minister of Environment Pavel Drobil (ODS) is not about to continue anyhow in plans which Martin Bursík (SZ) has started at the Ministry. “The advancing is terrible foolishness, it will help to nothing”, Drobil stated in an interview for MF DNES. In practice it means that people are not under threat that they would have to keep for example empty PET bottles or cans and then to carry them back in shops. However, a chance to increase more significantly a volume of separated waste considerably decreases.

ACH: Brussels proposal on agricultural policy is equivocal for CR

A November proposal of the European Commission on a form of the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU after 2013 is equivocal for the Czech Republic; it contains advantageous and disadvantageous points. Whether it will be finally advantageous for the CR, it will depend on a result of coming hard negotiations with other member states and Brussels institutions. On the occasion of an international conference of representatives of non-governmental agricultural organizations of new EU member states in Brno, a vice-president of the Agrarian Chamber of the CR Bohumil Belada said it to ČTK.

Eco-commission stays and government is still more and more mysterious

Already since Monday, the government members acquaint themselves with the actual state of the biggest and the most problematic domestic public commission - a tender for removal of old ecological damages. The Ministers of Finances and Environment handed over their detailed competition analyses to their colleagues. After reading up this documentation, the government should decide about further procedure of the competition.

Lesy ČR - Record OR over 10 months: 2.645 billion crowns

This year´s economy of Lesy ČR is the best over the all enterprise history. Lesy ČR expects historically the highest operating results (OR) even over the whole period of 2010. It is clearly shown by an increasing trend of the economy since this year beginning. OR over the period of 10 months of this year is 2.645 billion crowns. “An extraordinarily good operating result is given especially by a realization of money saving and optimization measures in frame of two-year restructuring programme adopted by the enterprise management in spring 2009, with keeping of all principles of right care for a sustained value of forest and all its functions. An optimization of the structure and volume of harvested timber, and improvement of its average sale price contribute also to the achieved result”, the general director of Lesy ČR, Svatopluk Sýkora, states.
