Ecological taxes in EU are shared mainly by households

Household wallets in the European Union will pay the biggest share of selected ecological taxes. It results from a statistics published by Eurostat last Thursday (the 6th of January). The turn statistics of Eurostat reveals in a high degree who and by what share shares in state incomes from energy, transportation and other “green” taxes in the European Union. For example it results from it that the states of twenty-seven collected in ecological taxes 304 million Euros in 2007, so roughly 2.5 Union GDP. The ecological taxes represented in total 6.2 % of the total share of the selected taxes and social allowances in the EU.

There is enough of wood, Lesy ČR asserts

Lesy ČR deny a criticism of processors, reputedly there is enough wood on the market. However, its price increases for several months. The state enterprise Lesy České republiky (LČR) is not reliable for the current situation of wood processors. In a reaction to expression of manufacturing firms from the end of last week it was said by a spokesman of the firm Zbyněk Boublík to ČTK today. According to him there is enough wood on the free market in the CR and neighbouring states. According to wood-processors , delayed signing of contracts among Lesy ČR and winners of tenders for works in the state forests for this year cause uncertainty, a lack of wood and a substandard growth of its prices.

Fuksa: Present checks have not found out occurrence of dioxins in CR

Czech supervisory authorities have not detected any occurrence of dioxins in imported pig meat and eggs yet, the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa and head representatives of supervisory organization communicated today. According to Fuksa, there is no reason to close borders with Germany to which the Agrarian Chamber called last week. The supervisory bodies will still check the imported foods and feeds. Carcinogenic dioxins were detected in meat and eggs in Germany in last days.

State billions of subsidiary fund are administered by brokers Wood & Co.

A half of property of the state Agriculture and Forestry Support and Guarantee Fund (PGRLF), which provides subsidies to farmers, is administered by a broker house Wood & Company. PGRLF is one of state funds governing financial means in amount of ones of billions crowns whose name was mentioned in connection with a corruption cause concerning the ex-minister of environment Pavel Drobil. “In fact, today it is not public information where PGRLF has saved means”, the called off chief of the State Fund of Environment Libor Michálek stated in the Czech TV programme Otázky Václava Moravce.
