Foods on Czech market are unobjectionable; it was confirmed by newest continuous results of test made by State Agricultural and Food Inspection

All checked samples on the market which the State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) takes already since the 5th January and examines in connection with a dioxin risk in the neighbouring Germany are all right. SZPI inspectors took samples of all types of food products from poultry, pig and beef meat, and fresh eggs, cross the Czech Republic, and above all in chain stores. According to continuous results of extraordinary checks, food products in Czech shops are in good order.

New logos should mark right Czech foods; they will appear already in April

The Food Chamber prepares two projects for marking of all-Czech foods. They will get a flag “Czech food” and “Czech product”. The marks should be used from the end of April; they have been already registered. The logos should prevent from repetition of a dioxin scandal when German objectionable meat was eaten also by the Czechs. The project is welcomed also by the present government. “I like the idea and I express support to it”, Petr Nečas told. At present, it is possible to mark as Czech product anything that is only packed in the CR. Now, Czech consumers should be informed earlier about the real origin of foods.

Fuksa will speak with German ministress about dioxin affair

The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa will speak by telephone with German Ministress of Agriculture Ilse Aigner about a dioxin affair in German breedings today. Fuksa said it to journalists today after a negotiation with Saxon counterpart Frank Kupfer. According to the State Veterinary Administration, several thousands tonnes of German meat have been already imported in the Czech Republic from Germany which could contain the dangerous dioxin. “A have arranged an afternoon interview with the federal ministress (of agriculture)”, Fuksa told. He is going to meet German ministress Aigner personally on Friday on Berlin food trade fair Grüne Woche. “She will come to see Czech stall and we will it (the problems of dioxins in meat and eggs) solve”, he added.

Minister of Environment is Tomáš Chalupa

The president of republic Václav Klaus named in the head of Ministry of Environment (MŽP) Tomáš Chalupa (ODS) today. He changes Pavel Drobil (ODS) who resigned the function on the 15th of December 2010. The new Minister of Environment was introduced in the office by the premier Petr Nečas. “He is a very high-quality politicians, he has wide experience in the public service. Therefore, my choice is just Mr. Chalupa”, Nečas told. Tomáš Chalupa himself, according to his words, would like as soon as possible to get acquainted with a situation in the State Environment Fund on MŽP. He emphasized also his willingness to listen to others. According to him, an aim of the department administration is an undogmatical approach.
