Ministry of Agriculture has new programme of applied research
A new program of agricultural applied research and experimental development Complex sustainable systems in agriculture 2012-2018 „KUS“ (Komplexní udržitelné systémy) was passed by the government on Wednesday. Main aims of the Programme will fulfil particular projects within three sub-programmes. The ministry wants in the projects to support a complex solution and cooperation among research and user subjects, and also as faster transfer of results to users and in educational process as possible. A realization of the project will be secured by the Ministry of Agriculture. The programme is focused on a support of projects of applied research and experimental development in the area of agriculture, fishing, food industry, water and forest management.
Other continuous results of tests confirmed unobjectionability of foods on Czech market
Continuous results of tests confirm that foods on Czech markets are all right. Supervisory authorities in the CR continue in intensive checks on base of an instruction of the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa. “According to continuous results of ongoing checks, any foods with excess content of dioxins have not been detected in the Czech Republic till today. Moreover, consumers should be interested in the origin of foods in shops. Every seller is obliged to register it and should be able to document it. They should concentrate on domestic products.” the minister Fuksa summarizes.
SZPI opened project of cross-border cooperation with Saxony in area of food market supervision
An introductory conference on a project of cross-border cooperation of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) and Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs and Consumer Protection took place on the 18th of January, 2011 in Most. On behalf of SZPI, inspectorates in Pilsen and Ústí nad Labem joined the projects, on the Saxon side there are inspection bodies subject to Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs and Consumer Protection. An aim of the project is strengthening of cooperation and creation of network of personal contacts of inspectors in border regions of the Czech Republic and Saxony in the area of official food control.
January floods were mild, they kept at level of two-year flow on most territories
In most cases, January floods reached maximally a level of two- to five-year water. Twenty-year flow has been recorded only in the river-basin of Vltava on the rivers Radbuza and Mže. A manipulation on dams helped much. “Even though the flood coming seem to be dramatic, it has reached only two-year flows in most territories. According to a preliminary investigation, twenty-year flow has been recorded only in the river-basin of Vltava on the rivers Radbuza and Mže. Five-year flows were exceeded only exceptionally in the river-basin of Ohře and Labe”, the minister Fuksa explains.
