Minister Fuksa negotiated with federal ministress Ilse Aigner about dioxin affair and CAP future

The Czech Minister of Agriculture and his German colleague Ilse Aigner met at one-hour meeting at the international trade fair Grüne Woche in Berlin. The ministress closed the negotiation about dioxin affair with an affirmation that Germany would make appropriate steps to prevent repeating anything similar. A second topic and at the same time a success was a consonant refusal of fixing of payment ceilings. In case of the dioxin affair, reporting in the monitoring system failed rather than the system itself. Nevertheless, the ministress Aigner promised making checks more intensive and taking of more samples. According to the ministress, the checking system is being now revised.

Our producers and exporters have opened door

The State Veterinary Administration of the CR tries to make maximum for farmers and producers, despite the fact remarks are sometimes heard, that they would deserve the same conditions for applying of production or live animals on the intra-Community market. But thanks to a long-term good infection situation, our breeders have conditions for trading significantly better in comparison with many member states. They do not have to pass health examinations before export because our republic was recognized as free from many animal infectious diseases.

Prague Wine Week connects wine and gastronomy

Organizers of the thirds year of festival Prague Wine Week, which starts in the hotel Crowne Plaza Prague, bet on a connection of gastronomy and top wines. 15 Prague restaurants, wine shops and wine bars will offer tasting of beverages awarded in the competition Prague Wine Trophy in combination with delicate foods to the January 30. The festival will be opened with a gala-degustation of medal wines which obtained award in the competition Prague Wine Trophy. 1198 wines participated in. Almost two thirds were from abroad. Almost 400 marks will be presented at the festival. Visitors will meet personally with Moravian and foreign vine-growers whose production was awarded.

Germans went out in streets because of dioxins. They want changes in agriculture

Thousand of protesters in the German city required changes in agricultural procedures in connection with the causa of detection of carcinogenic dioxins in eggs and poultry and pig meat. The agency Reuters informed on it. “Instructions concerning the environment and animals have softened in recent years. It is a danger for consumers - as we can see at the dioxin scandal - and something what they do not want”, Reinhild Benning from German branch of the movement Friends of Earth explained reasons for a protests in which 22 000 people participated, according to organizers. More realistic estimations spoke about approximately 10 000 participants.
