Chiefs of governments flap from food process growth, they ask trade regulation

Chiefs of governments warned against an intensive growth of food process which leads to commotions in many poorer countries. Therefore, at a world economic forum in Davos, some politicians asked a stricter regulation of speculative trades with foods. However, others refuse the limitation. They suggest stopping of use of agricultural production for fuel production. Jordan State Minister for Public Projects Imád Fachuri referred to the situation of the Middle East and North Africa countries which import their basic foods and hardly cope with price growth now.

Food producers challenged to purchase of Czech foods

Czech food producers challenged consumers today to buy above all domestic foods. They say, that domestic products have guaranteed high quality, healthy unobjectionability; at the same time people would support by purchase of them the employment in the country. A document, called according to a place of origin “Modřická výzva” (Modřice challenge) was sent to ČTK by the Food Chamber (FCh) today. Besides its president Miroslav Toman it was signed above all by representatives of the biggest domestic poultry processors. Producers refer to the fact hat owing to world trade globalization, many foods are imported in the Czech Republic this time.

First swallow in marking of high-quality domestic foods can be chicken

Poultry meat processing is at high level in the Czech Republic. The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa and representatives of food-industry and agricultural experts and producers made certain of it at a visit of modern poultry slaughter in Modřice near Brno. Labels with slogans “Czech chickens air-cooled” and “Czech product” were stuck on a fresh chicken treated by modern cooling technology, which went down from a packaging line of a premise in Modřice by the minister Ivan Fuksa. “Recently and namely after the dioxin affair in Germany it turned out how important it is for our consumer to find out from where the food which you buy comes from”.

Inquiry: Czechs in shopping prefer domestic goods mainly concerning foods

Most Czech customers in their shopping prefer Czech products to foreign ones. They prefer domestic products mainly in case of some foods. They give precedence Czech marks mainly in choice of beer, meat and milk products. It results from a research whose results were provided to ČTK by a company GfK Czech. People mark freshness and quality as the most important for selection of goods. Three quarters of fewer than five hundred of interviewed stated that at least in case of some kinds of foods they prefer Czech products to foreign ones. A higher “patriotism rate” in choice of foods is shown by older people.
