Lesy ČR: successful year 2010. Historically best operating results: 3.13 billion
Lesy ČR really economically prospered in 2010. According to the most actual, not yet audited data, Lesy ČR achieved a record operating results (OR) in the height of 3.13 billion crowns in 2010, in its whole history since 1992. That despite the fact that the enterprise had to cope with many unfavourable circumstances like floods and climatic influences throughout the year. Flood and wind calamity damages reached almost 1 billion crowns.
Piggeries in South Moravia will be closed, farms do not pay off to farmers
Expensive feed and low buy-out prices of pig meat liquidate pig farms in South Moravia. Some farms disappear already now in the region, other breeders consider this seriously. With liquidation of old piggeries many local employees lost their job. “We breed pigs on two farms and one of them will be closed. A farm in Šebetov will run only by this year end”, a director of Agropodnik in Skalice nad Svitavou, Jan Jurásek says.

Intense rise in prices for lease of agricultural land
Prices of lease of agricultural land in the east Germany have tripled throughout the recent years. It results from a report Report München. A boom of large bio-gas facilities endangers an existence of family farms. Large investors have secured wide areas of arable land to obtain a sufficient amount of corn for profitable bio-engineering production. A political journal ARD report München stated it with reference to a study of Word Wildwide Fund (WWF). Throughout the last three years, the price for lease of land has almost tripled in the east of Germany.
