Agricultural profit grew to 6.2 bil. last year, more than estimated

A profit of Czech agriculture increased year-on-yearly by 3.6 billion to 6.2 billion crown last year. A production expresses in current basic prices increased by 0.8 billion to 98.5 billion CZK. While the plant production especially owing to a considerable increase in cereals prices increased, the animal production decreased. It results from preliminary data of the Czech Statistic Office. The growth is more significant than foregoing estimations supposed. For example, the Agricultural Union reckoned the last year´s profit at the end of January to 3,5 billion crowns; CSO at the turn of the year forecasted the result between three and five billion.

Ninth round of reception of Applications for grant from Operational Programme Fishery will start at turn of March and April

From the 28th of March to the 8th of April, applicants for grants from the Operational Programme Fishery will have an opportunity to submit projects of Protection of Water Environment Measures. The announced round of reception of Application for grants is determined for production fishermen - individuals and legal entities whose incomes come from the aqua-culture operated by own name, at own liability and risk; further for universities, high-schools, for school enterprises and research institutes with focus on fishery and angler´s unions.

Pig farms go bust

Each time some of commodities so called burns and the state started to be unmaintanable, the agrarian chamber rings the alarm and looks for a solution. Last year, it was milk. Nevertheless, its price has improved and the state thanks to this year´s help on base of the paragraph 68 is stabilizing. At present, pigs are bad off. Just as it was last year in case of cow sheds, now entire pig farms, which go bust, are closed. Therefore, the Agrarian Chamber of the CR with the Pig Breeders Union in Bohemia and Moravia called a press conference in the place of events, in the sale cooperative Centroodbyt in Pardubice on the 22nd of February

Poultry breeder cartel will return in antimonopoly office

A case of cartel of seven poultry breeding firms fined by the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) by 14.2 million crowns will return in ÚOHS. The Supreme Administrative Court decided on it when rejected cassation complaint of the antimonopoly office and confirmed the foregoing decision of the Regional court in Brno. A judge of the Regional Court in Brno, David Raus, informed on it journalists. According to him, poultry producers really closed the cartel, however, not all perform it against ÚOHS opinion. “In case of one of accusers, this fact, according to the court opinion was not proved”, Raus stated.
