Domestic wine is still more and more in

This year´s lack of domestic wines caused by bad crop can be felt by consumers also positively with the intent that the interest in Czech and Moravian wine will increase even more. The bad crop in the last year will lead to that s share of foreign wine export will grow this year. A director of Wine Fund, Jaroslav Machovec asserts it. He estimates that Czech consumers will drink in as many as seventy percents foreign wines this year, i.e. by ten percents more than last year.

Methods of soil protection against erosion stems also from farmers´ proposals

The Minister Ivan Fuksa negotiated with farmers in Vysočina on erosion-protection measures not only in potato growing. According to the minister, it is necessary to propose such procedures which have provable influence on soil protection and will not burden farmers either bureaucratically or economically. Farmers also discussed for example bio-gas stations and a support of regional foods.

Experts warn: Cereals contain toxic dyes

Popular breakfast cereals can besides a big amount of sugar hide also other dangers. For example toxic dyes as Swiss experts found out and Great Britain has already started to act according to it. “Afflicted” are also trademarks which are sold in the Czech Republic, too. Also some producers have to already admit that the toxic dyes contaminate foods inside paper packages. According to today´s Hospodářské noviny, firms on British market have started to act. According to the station BBC, a company Jordans stopped using of risky packages and other two, Kellogg´s and Weetabix, stated that they are making steps to reduce health hazards.

Food prices still rise slightly. Even without tax change

The coalition will solve tax changes again owing to a pension reform. Some goods in shops go up independently on politicians. When you want something really expensive, watching TV, give yourselves coffee with sugar, smoke and eventually, drink a glass of something more alcoholic. Prices of all mentioned commodities have grown since this year beginning. E.g. sugar raised in price in the only month by 7.5 percents, coffee almost by five percents. Counting up all consumers process, the inflation jumped by other tenth of percent to 1.8 percents in February. The Czech Statistic Office confirmed it yesterday.
