Aigner: Agrarian subsidies should be only for active farmers

Only active farmers should have a right in the future to get agrarian subsidies. German Ministress of Agriculture Ilse Aigner told it after negotiation with Czech minister of the same department, Ivan Fuksa, today. According to Aigner, Germany, same as the Czech Republic, within a reform of the EU Common Agricultural Policy is against ceilings for direct payment paid off per hectare of arable land which would disadvantage large farms.

Operating results in agriculture in 2010 was +5.1 bil. CZK

According to an investigation provided by the Agricultural Union of the CR worked out by a methodology of double-entry accounting, the operating results in agriculture in the CR over the year 2010 is +5.1 bil. CZK. The improvement of operating results against 2009 was achieved by cost saving by 3 bil. CZK; a higher paid height of operating subsidies against estimations; by decrease of labour costs by 1.3 bil. because of reduction in a number of employees roughly by 8000 even within wage increase by 3.8 % to 18 330 CZK. Without subsidies farmers would be very losing.

Poles are worried about low prices of pig meat

In various Polish regions farmers protests against low prices of pig meat and import of cheap pig meat from abroad. Transport problems arisen by shutdown of tractors, to which an independent agrarian trade-union organization Solidarność RI called upon pig breeders, took place at the week beginning in voivodships Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian and also Lublin.

Certification of origin in processed eggs including dioxin content analysis

In order to increase transparence in origin of processed eggs, the Society for Controlled Alternative Farms and its checking system KAT in the Federal Republic of Germany has offered a certification by the help of a control stamp already in processed eggs since beginning of 2011. The new stamp “Eggs origin - checked by KAT” is determined for foods within production of which eggs from cage farms demonstrably were not used. This stamp, which is placed directly on packages of particular products, offer consumers the same transparence and possibility to find by return the food origin as e.g. in a direct purchase of eggs.
