Minister will support development of farmers markets

The minister Tomáš Chalupa participated in the first birthday celebration of farmers markets in Prague - Dejvice at genesis of which he was as then chief magistrate of Prague 6. The markets started successfully not only in Prague but in the whole Czech Republic last year. “Neither of us, who prepared the first markets, expects such a success”, the minister Tomáš Chalupa told at a ceremonial opening of other year of market. “The idea proved good and I would like in my current function support rise of other markets, also outside the city Prague”, he added.

Slovenia and Czech Republic advocate simpler and less bureaucratic rules of future Common Agricultural Policy

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Industry of the Republic of Slovenia, Dejan Židan negotiated with his Czech colleague Ivan Fuksa about attitudes of both countries to a future form of the Common Agricultural Policy, and also about experience with the Law on significant market power. The have agreed on cooperation in the animal production sector. Slovenia and the Czech Republic accordingly consider as their priority a simplification of rules of the next Common Agricultural Policy on order that it does not mean increase of bureaucratic burden for farmers and thereby also higher costs.

Growing farmers´ incomes

Farmers´ incomes in the European Union should have increase significantly by 2020. It results from a actual EU study. In 2020, farmers could earn approximately by 20 percents more than at average of years 2005 - 2009. However, the development in particular countries will be different. While farmers in West Europe (EU-15) will enjoy only an increase less than 10 percents, an increase in twelve East-European accession countries could achieve almost 45 percents.

Interest in fresh foods from farms grows

The interest in home vegetable, fruits, meat, milk, honey and other foods is no longer only a domain of people from cities who decided to eat healthy. Still more and more people from small villages on they ways stop somewhere near to their home on a farm to buy fresh vegetable, home potatoes, honey, or for example home yoghurts at a farmer. There is surprisingly a huge amount of so called sellers from farm in the region Žďár. But, some of local farmers attend to organic farming also professionally.
