Chamber of Deputies supported government in attitude to EU agricultural policy

The Chamber of Deputies supported Czech government attitude to the common agricultural policy of the European Union by the year 2020 today. The Chamber´s position was supported by representatives crosswise parties; none was against. The Chamber of Deputies disagree for example with limitation of direct payments according to a criterion of size of an agricultural enterprise. “The resolution is to support the present government negotiation. In fact, all non-governmental agricultural organization bodily agree with the government´s position”, Josef Šenfeld (KSČM), an informant, said to this point to ČTK. At the same time he pointed out that the government´s position is at the beginning and negotiation will continue.

State will release 300 000 tonnes of cereals for feed producers

This year, the state will lend from its reserves as many as 300 000 tonnes of cereals to producers of feeds for farm animals. Feed producers will have to return the borrowed cereals by this year end from this year´s harvest. From the beginning, feed producers, mainly pig and poultry breeders, battle with a lack of cereals suitable for making into feed. However, according to information from the Administration of State Material Reserves (SSHR), from a material approved by ministers, a possibility to use a part of cereals for mills dropped out, and all cereals should be at disposal only to feed producers.

Land Fund transformation leads to decrease of bureaucracy and savings

A restructuring of the Ministry of Agriculture and departmental organizations runs in several stages. One of them concerns a transformation of the Land Fund of the CR. By this step the bureaucratic apparatus should be slenderized, there should be some financial savings and work efficiency should increase. The Minister of Agriculture informed on a course of preparation of legislative and organizational steps for the transformation of Land Fund of the CR at Wednesday government meeting.

Farmers in Vysočina report damages after winter mainly in rape. Representatives of some enterprises stated that a part of growths will have been ploughed up - somewhere it will be a tenth. Rains still could help to next fifth of fields with rape, however, according to farmers their worse state will reflect itself in yields in any case. According to first estimation, winter cereals have survived the winter quite good. Spring works starts on fields in the region. ČTK found out today that farmers had already started to fertilize winter crops and they sow spring barley in some places.
