FAO: World food prices will grow again after March decrease

After a March decrease, world food prices will go up again in following days because demand is growing on while supply of the market remains is on edge. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UNO stated it today. The FAO world food index decreased in March, however, it had continuously grown for eight month before. The fall is attributed to outside factors, for example political commotions in the north of Africa and in the Middle East, and to the earthquake in Japan. These regions are important cereals importers.

Bureaucracy in agriculture - we implement EU obligations for 300 %

An amendment follows an amendment; the Ministry of Agriculture throws up one by one. I participate in it, too. We produce wastes and are convinced that we simplify. It is necessary to put a basic question to ourselves. Do we have to amend particular laws really so often? Has not come a moment incidentally when less is more? We have to been full-members of the European Union for almost seven years. We have to obtain much experience. It is necessary to say stop to the old conception of agricultural legislative. To glance back, to evaluate, and to create a new conception, able to compete.

Ministry of Agriculture negotiated Wooden book with representatives of entrepreneurs

Representatives of the Entrepreneur and Sole Traders Association of the ČR and the Party of Self-Employed of the Czech Republic met with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and discussed a management conception of Lesy ČR today. Both representatives of private entrepreneurs welcomed that the first Deputy Minister of Agriculture Roman Boček informed them in details about prepared tenders for works in Lesy ČR.

Czech discovery should contribute to detailed reading of cereals DNA

A discovery of Czech scientists will enable to read in details a genetic information of wheat and barley for which an international projects is focused. Its coordinator Catherine Feuillet from French National Institute for Agricultural Research told it at today´s press conference. The detailed knowledge of genetic information should lead to breeding of such varieties of these cereals which will be more productive and more resistant against diseases and extreme weather impacts. Resolvers of the projects discuss these problems at today´s scientific conference.
