Lesy ČR follows new trends in measurement of volume of laying wood in piles

Lesy ČR monitors and searches continuously new technologies serving for checking of a volume and movement of wooden mass straight in forests. In this connections, a presentation of Danish firm Dralle A/S, which introduced an appliance for electronic measurement of volume of wooden raw material straight in forest, took place in a directory of the state enterprise in Hradec Králové.

Beware of “VŽP” from third countries

From the 1st of May, 2011 it will be possible to import VŽP (sideline animal products) into the EU from so called third countries only from plants approved for trading with the EU. From the 4th of March, 2011, new regulations (EC) No. 1069/2009 and (EU) No. 142/2011 came in force. The article 30 of regulation (EU) No. 142/2011 sets that “a list of facilities and plants in third countries will be inserted in a system TRACES in compliance with technical specifications which the Commission publishes on its internet sites”. In practice it means that similarly as products determined for human consumption also the sideline animal products can be imported only from approved plants.

Ecological dairy cow breeding is preferable

The ecological dairy cow breeding based on grazing raising supports health of cows, improves milk quality, and decreases an ecological footprint of dairy cow breeding. Vice versa, high-production breeding based on grain feed causes problems with reproduction health of dairy cows, leads to a smaller number of longer lactations, and shortens life to dairy cows thereby it decrease yields for breeders.

Weather has done favour to farmers in spring works in South Moravia for the present

Spring works on fields, which draw to a close in many places in South-Moravian Region, according to farmers and representatives of agrarian chambers continue without problems for now. The spring coming was favourable for spring sowing for the present. According to farmers it looks that even crop of apricots and peaches could be good last year against the last disastrous year. “Damages in winter crops and vineyards are minimal after the winter”, a chairman of the Regional Agrarian Chamber in Hodonín, Petr Chaloupka told. He farms himself on hundreds of hectares of land.
