Guaranteed quality from Czech farms
The company Billa has marketed a new private mark in the assortment of meat and meat products. Customers can find beef, pig and chicken meat as well as many special sausages with a mark Vocílka in shops of this chain from Monday, the 18th of April. Billa guarantees in this way marked meat that it comes exclusively from Czech farms; is maximally fresh and carefully checked from the slaughter through a treatment to a portioning.
According to amendment, farmers should have possibility to buy land in preference
The government will discuss amendments of three laws which should enable a preferential purchase of state agricultural land to farmers who have already managed it. The new adjustments should prevent purchase of land preferentially by persons who do not carry out agricultural production. A ban of sale of agricultural land to foreigners was negotiated by the Czech Republic at accessing in the European Union. The exception terminates in May this year.
Beekeepers in south of Bohemian burn beehives, dangerous bee plague
Bee colonies in South Bohemian are decimated by dangerous bee plague. The Veterinary Administration has examined bee of 74 breeders and found out sixteen infection centers. The plague appeared after five quite years also in the region České Budějovice. “A significant spread of proved occurrences of this disease has happened. Five infection centers is in regions České Budějovice and Jindřichův Hradec, tree centers are in the region Český Krumlov, two in Strakonice region and one in Prachatice region”, Vladimír Rachač from the Regional Veterinary Administration for South Bohemia confirmed.
New garlic pest decreases crop
Recently, Czech garlic has become the most popular vegetable. At least it can be judged according to how often it is spoken or written about in media. One of the biggest garlic growers Ing. Jan Kozák, a garlic breeder, an owner of thirteen varieties, whereas other three varieties are in a registration proceedings, addressed with this opinion to the Agrarian Chamber of the CR. Ing. Jan Kozák reacted by thus at a press conference organized by the Crop Research Institute in Prague - Ruzyně in cooperation with the Agrarian Chamber of the CR, in connection to a conference of European project Euralliveg. A coordinator of the project on behalf of Czech side is a researcher Ing. Jiří Zámečník.
