SZPI forbade using of food store in Prague emporium Saparia

Inspectors of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) within a targeted inspection in large emporium Saparia in the Libušská street in Prague have found out hard hygienic inadequacies. They carried out the check in cooperation with the Police of the CR on base of advice from customs service employees. The inspectors found living rodents and their excrements in a food store in the building B1; a rodent poison was freely tossed on the floor beside the foods. Some foods and their packages were bitten and contaminated with urine. The premises were full of strong smell and mustiness.

Inspection withdrew roasted pistachio nuts with excessive amount of aflatoxins from markets

The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) has found out an excessive amount of aflatoxins in a product with trade name “Pistachio nuts salted roasted” (charge L046, expiration date 18. 12. 2011, package 200 g). A producer of the mentioned food is the firm IBK TRADE which bought the raw material (originating from Iran) from the firm MB INDUSTRY s.r.o. Chrastava. The firma IBK TRADE supplied processed pistachio nuts to the company AHOLD Czech Republic, a.s. in amount of 358,4 kg.

Frosts damaged orchards, pear-trees and cherries suffered the most

Frost at night to Wednesday in the Czech Republic damaged seriously a part of orchards. Obviously, outplantings of pear-trees and cherries will be damaged the most. The main fruit kind, apples, could go throuht the frosts without extreme losses. A president of the Fruit-Grower Union of the CR Martin Ludvík said it to ČTK. According to him, at present, it is not possible more exact damage estimation. “We have to wait minimally for one week. Then we will see how much the frosts damaged the orchards”, Ludvík told. He reminded that a frost wave has not finished yet and it could freeze also at night to Thursday.

Import of dairy products from third countries in within of customs quotas

By Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2535/2001, unabridged, a regime for submitting licence application for import from third countries within customs quotas is determined. The licence applications for import in the period from July 1 to December 31, 2011 are submitted in the term from the 1st to the 10th of June, 2011. The application can be submitted only by importers registered for dairy products import in framework of customs quotas for the period from July 1 to June 30, 2012.
