Zetor - famous mark with sixty five-year tradition

Brno tractor producer Zetor, which celebrates the 65th anniversary of foundation this year, belonged among the most important Czech engineering plants from the category “family silver”. Its name had become in one-time Czechoslovakia practically a synonym for a tractor; it was successful also abroad. However, after 1989 the firm went over a crisis out of which it gradually gets, judging according to economic results from recent years.

European Commission drives CR to court owing to chemical substance acrolein

The European Commission drives the Czech Republic to European justice. The reason is a fact that Prague, in spite of a warning from Brussels, did not filed acrolein in a list of substances which are subject to rules about biocid preparations. Already in half of March Brussels announced with a threat of sanctions that it misses other two substances in the lists - flokumafen and tolylfluanid used for wood protection. An amendment of law on biocides, which should relieve the shortages and should accelerate adding of other chemicals in the lists of permitted biocides, is discussed by the Parliament now.

Polish strawberry is gaining European renown. However, how much it should cost?

The first domestic strawberries appeared on shelves of Polish market halls in half of May. And like every year their price became a significant social topic. With a production of two hundred thousand tonnes of strawberries yearly Poland belongs among world strawberry Great Powers. Despite the fact Poles prefer red fruits exported from abroad at beginning of the season. For comparison: the first strawberry harvested this year in Poland cost on the market in conversion as many as 120 crowns per one kilogram. However, strawberries from Greece, Spain, Hungary or Turkey, which are sold mainly in supermarkets, cost only a half.

Thanks to subsidies, ecological orchards in Pardubice region are being enlarged

A number of ecological farmers in the region Pardubice increased from 90 to 126 last year. However, the area of land farmed without chemicals increased only slightly, roughly by one percent.
