Number of eco-farms increases in Zlín region, their number has already exceeded 340

A number of eco-farms increases in the region Zlín. There were 344 eco-farms with an acreage over 35 600 hectares of land at this year´s beginning. Last year, the ecological farming system was joined by 64 farmers. However, there is a lack of bio-food producers in the region. In the nationwide comparison, the region is obviously the best at the number of hectares of orchards, Renata Vaculíková from the region PRO-BIO Ecological Farmers Union of the ČR said to ČTK.

Farmer markets have their codex; it will help them to strengthen customers´ confidence

Today, an expected farmer market codex was published by the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa by fixing it on a gate - according to the manner of medieval market places which was particular in honesty of marketeers and corrected hard any misconducts. The modern codex is based rather on willingness; sellers who will support it will be distinguishable at first sight for customers and it can mean for them a marketing advantage. However, the principle is the same: it is dealt with an improvement of orientation and a strengthening of customers´ confidence that they will get really what they expect on the market and what markets promise - fresh, quality and domestic foods directly from producers.

Inspection: Šumava Administration did not have exception for poisons

Czech Inspection of the Environment (ČIŽP) confirmed the association Hnutí Duha that the Šumava park administration had distributed timbers with pesticides contrary to law. The Administration of the National Park Šumava had not had a necessary exception for the distribution of timbers with pesticides to kill wood engraver. Therefore, the inspection will open a proceeding about a fine with the park administration. Duha as the complainer was informed about the result of the check by the regional inspectorship in České Budějovice. A member of the association Karal Bláha told it.

Czech Republic is for preservation of planting rights of grapevine after 2015

The Czech Republic supports a preservation of planting rights also after 2015. It is lead above all by a fear of a surplus of wine on the European Union´s market and also a fundamental disagreement with wasting of European money. In the last three years, they were paid off to vine-growers who abandoned their vineyards without possibility of their renewal. According to the ministry and vine-growers themselves, the present system of planting rights of grapevine works as a stabilizer of wine production in the EU and help to increase European wines quality, including wine from Moravia and Bohemia.
