TZ - Close checkings of ecological farmers secure safety of indigenous bio-foods

Czech bio-foods are safe. Nor exported bio-cucumbers were proved as a source of infection causing haemophilic diarhoea. PRO-BIO Ecological Farmers Union strives for distracting of unbelief which has been supported in recent days by an expression of opinion of the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa. Ecological farmers vigorously deny a statement that there is a health hazard in cane of Czech bio-foods. Checks are strong. They also include an observance of right agricultural procedures.

CSO: Harvesting in Czech forests increased by 8 pct last year

16.73 million cubic meters of woods were harvested last year in Czech forests; year-on-yearly by eight percents more. It results from data published by the Czech Statistic Office (CSO) today. Above all, the planned harvesting grew; vice versa, in a casual harvesting including a removal of windthrow or liquidation of parasitized trees a slight decrease happened to 6.46 million cubic meters.

Subdealers will be driven out from farmer markets only by informed customers

The Private Agriculture Association (PAA) welcomes an effort of the Ministry of Agriculture of the CR to prevent sale of goods from supermarkets on farmer market places. However, a permission is issues to sellers always the market organizer and a newly published codex. Even if the organizer claims for it, for him/her it will be only a legally not binding document. A chairman of the PAA Josef Stehlík is convinced that the Codex of farmer markets can contribute to better informedness of customers about purchased goods. So, people will get a better chance to guard the quality of purchased foods and to avoid in arch stalls of dishonest fellows.

Food prices will have more than doubled in twenty years, Oxfam study warns

Prices for basic foods will have more than doubled during 20 years, if world politicians do not make urgent steps towards overturn of this trend. It results from a study prepared by British charitable organization Oxfam. The basic product price will have increased by 120 to 130 percents by 2030, Oxfam asserts. According to the report, the main cause of the rise in process should be a climatic change. It is supported by exhaustion of natural resources, population growth, and growing of crop plants for bio-fuels.
