Countries of Visegrád Four agree that fixing of ceilings of direct payments would not help to simplify CAP

Representatives of agricultural departments of Visegrád Four enlarged by Bulgaria and Romania agreed on that a proposed fixing of ceiling of direct payments according to a size of businesses goes against an effort to simplify the Common Agricultural Policy. They also negotiated about compensations for vegetable growers within the context of E. coli affair. They united in a requirement of non-discriminating compensations which would proportionally considered losses received by farmers in particular member states.

Reception of Applications for subsidies from OP Fishery in 10th round is prolonged by June 27, 2011

In the framework of the tenth round of the Operational Programme Fishery 2007 - 2013 applicants submit Applications for subsidies for projects in the measure 3.2. Measure for protection and development of water animals and plants, the intention b) European eel (Anguilla anguilla) naturalizing. The Ministry of Agriculture is concerned with the Czech Fishing Union (ČFU) to naturalize eels in fishing area of watercourses and so that the ČR would fulfill its engagement towards he EC according to an approved Eel Management Plan.

EC: Farmers will get 210 million Euro for damages caused by bacteria

European producers of selected kinds of vegetable will obtain 210 million Euros (over five milliard crowns) from the EU budget) as a compensation of damages connected with a spread of dangerous bacteria EHEC. After negotiation of experts of the EU member states it was announced by the European Commission. For the present, it is not clear to what amount of losses the compensation will be paid off. A decision about is should be made in the second half of July. “Today´s managing committee passed an instant help parcel for fresh vegetable growers in the amount 210 million Euros”.

EU criticizes Russia owing to continuing embargo on vegetable from EU

Today, the European Commission criticized Russia owing to the fact that Moscow still embargoes fresh vegetable import from the countries of European Union owing to the dangerous bacteria causing serious enteric problems. Nevertheless, several days ago Russia promised cancellation of the embargo declared on the 2nd June. “The Commission expressed a big discontent with the fact that the embargo had not been cancelled yet as it was resolved by the president Dmitrij Medvedev and the European Union president José Barrosa at a summit (the EU - Russia).
