Number of employees in forestry decreased last year; wages raised by 6 pct

A number of people working in Czech forestry have decreased by 5.6 percents to 15 150 year-on-yearly last year. The average monthly wage in the branch has increased approximately by six percents to 21 074 CZK and grew faster than the average wage in the entire national economy. It results from data published by the Czech Statistic Office. The decrease in number of employees in forestry is a long-term matter. The average wage in the branch falls behind the average of the entire economy in the long term. “The number of employees in forestry activities has decreased permanently since 1989. Mostly it is owing to an increase in employment of sole traders”.

Babiš aims at head of Czech dairy businessmen. He goes in for dairy works in Hlinsko

The company Agrofert Holding of businessmen Andrej Babiš is going to buy the dairy works Mlékárna Hlinsko. In its Monday issues, the daily Euro writes it. According to it Agrofert would become the biggest milk processor in the Czech Republic. “We are interested in Hlinsko”, Euro cited Babiš. Nevertheless, the businessmen denied offering 400 million crowns for the dairy works. A majority owner of the fourth Czech dairy works selling its product under the mark Tatra, Daniela Domáčková, confirmed that she negotiates with Babiš about sale.

Yes, land is base

I do not want to polemize again and again with those who have blinders and can not perceive objective phenomena. Or they can but the politics inhibits them from it. Opinions of the type: not commodities but land - remind a debate about what was the first, an egg or a hen. Therefore I will try to express to the land, its wringing, more globally. After a rise of the independent Czechoslovakia on the October 28, 1918, the first land reform came. Its aim was to enable land ownership to masses of farmers.

Breweries established fund to protect Czech beer

Indigenous breweries established a fund which should protect Czech beer. Brewers under a slogan “Czech beer - our beer” actioned against cheap imports and in support a geographical indication protected in the European Union “Czech beer”. Hospodářské noviny stated it. According to the newspaper, breweries prepare marketing projects; they gained support of the Ministry of Agriculture, and several large breweries and the biggest malt houses in the Czech Republic - Souffle - established an Association in support of Czech beer.
