Lesy ČR checks blueberries pickers and unauthorized drives-in forests
At this time, not only a mushroom picking season starts, but also the period of blueberries picking culminates. Foresters get into arguments annually especially with undisciplined blueberries pickers who pick blueberries in large quantities, damages blueberry growths of and perhaps they do not realize that they break the law. However, conditions for picking of blueberries are governed in the law unambiguously.
House of Commons will discuss sale of state agricultural land to foreigners
At some of next meetings, the House of Commons should discuss an amendment which will enable sale of the state agricultural land to citizen of the European Union and the European Economic Area. An exception which was negotiated by the Czech Republic at accession into the EU stopped to be held in May. At that time a seven-year ban was imposed for the sale of agricultural land. In case that the Czech parliament does not accept this amendment, EU citizens would have a right to land purchase. The agreement on accession in the EU is a superior legal regulation.
ČIŽP imposed fine 1.5 million CZK for destruction of forests in Litoměřice region
The Czech Inspection of Environment (ČIŽP) imposed a fine of 1.5 million crowns to a forest owner near Bylochov in Litoměřice region for that he seriously damaged forest growths with heavy machinery. A spokeswoman of the Inspection Ivana Awwadová stated in a press release today that it is the highest fine at all for forest damage which inspectors from the ČŽIP in Ústí had ever imposed. The forest owners from Suchdol nad Lužnicí appealed against the fine, however, the Ministry of Environment confirmed it.
Liquidation of pig farms continues
A considerable fall has been recorded also in poultry meat production; numbers of chickens for fattening have significantly decreased. The meat production in the second quarter this year, according to yesterday published data of the Czech Statistic Office amounted to 128.9 thousands of tonnes and was by 5.6 percent lower than in the same period last year. Dairy works purchased 582.7 million liters of milk which was year-on-yearly by a half of percent less. A decrease was recorded in the pig meat production (by 1.9 %), beef meat production (by 3.3 %) and mainly in poultry meat (by 11.7 %).
