Paid deer shooting will end; Lesy will get poor by millions

A new National Park Křivoklátsko, with which declaration the Minister of Environment Tomáš Chalupa counts on next year, will do the state enterprise Lesy České republiky out of millions of crowns yearly. It is dealt with money which is paid to Lesy ČR now for that the firm enable to hunt forest game in the area Křivoklátsko. Lesy operates two directorial hunting grounds on the territory of planned park and other hunting grounds are rented. Only by the rent they earn almost three million crowns yearly. Other money is gained from huntsmen who pay for the possibility to shoot for example a deer in Křivoklát forests. Even as many as tens of thousands crowns are paid for one hunt animal. However, after the rise of national park one large hunting ground will come into being in the protected territory which will be administered by the park management. A commercial hunting will be forbidden there and Lesy České republiky will lose present incomes.

Businessmen want to inform better about risky foods

Businessmen will increase cooperation with supervisory authorities so that they would be able for example in time and reliably to inform customers on possible risky foods and to prevent a rise of panics among consumers owing to which they could forfeit a considerable part of takings. Representatives of the Union of Trade and Tourism of the CR (SOCR) with the main hygienist of the CR Michael Vít and the director of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection Jakub Šebesta agreed on enlargement of cooperation today. “In cooperation with the supervisory authorities of SOCR it is going above all to reliably inform its customers on real and not only trumped-up risks, similarly as Czech supervisory authorities have already done, and to contribute in this way to further education and the right consumer orientation in this area” stands in SOCR statement.

Record operating result: 3.4 milliard crowns over 6 months

The State enterprise Lesy ČR continues still in a successful management trend. The running operating result represents almost double increase in gross profit against the same period last year. It happened despite the fact that the Czech Statistic Office did not issue, for absolutely unexplained reasons till this time, the price index in forestry for the 1st quarter. The operation result (OR) would be then much better. Lesy ČR has achieved the record OR in spite of the fact that it bears increased costs owing to transformation of Agricultural Water-Management Administration when administration of other 14 000 km small water courses and stream and a part of its employees devolved in competence of Lesy ČR. All costs for care for entrusted water courses, liquidation of damages after floods and wind calamities, or a prevention in fight against wood engraver is covered by the state enterprise from own resources.
