According to Klaus, Czech farmers are too dependent on subsidies
According to the president Václav Klaus, Czech farmers are too dependent on subsidies, the state and politicians which are risky quantities. It would be much better, if the were dependent on a steady demand for their products. He said it at today´s opening of agrisalon Země živitelka (Earth Breadwinner). He reacted to a praise of the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa according to who record subsidies were successfully gained in the last year. According Fuksa, Czech farmers´ situation will not be worse either in the next planning period.
TZ: Eight ceremonial handing over of KLASA certificates at Země živitelka
Already the eight ceremonial handing over of KLASA certificates to newly awarded producers took place today, in the first day of the 38th year of the biggest Czech agricultural exhibition Země živitelka (Earth Breadwinner) in Pivovarská zahrada in the fairground in České Budějovice. The certificates were handed over personally by the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa and the director of the State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF), Oldřich Černoch in total to eight producers who obtained them for 16 food products. A distinguished guest of the ceremonial handing over was also the President of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus.
Ministers of agriculture of enlarged Visegrad Four discussed fair competition on united EU market, problems of renewable energy resources, and Common Agricultural Policy
České Budějovice besides our the biggest agrisalon Země živitelka hosted also another prestigious agricultural event: a negotiation of ministers of agriculture of Visegrad Four countries under patronage of Czech presidency, enlarged by a representative of Romania, Slovenia and Bulgaria. The meeting topic was for example the question national supplementary payments, use of biomass for energy purposes, or the Common Agricultural Policy.
Antimonopoly office allowed sale of Mlékárna Hlinsko to Agrofert
Agrofert owned by an entrepreneur Andrej Babiš can buy a dairy works Mlékárna Hlinsko. It is allowed by the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS). ÚOHS chairman Petr Rafaj said it to ČTK today. By the fusion a new number one can arise on the Czech market. Agrofert already owns Olomouc Olma. Mlékárna Hlinsko belongs to the biggest Czech plants in the branch. It sells under a mark Tatra. The majority owner of the firm is Daniela Domáčková who keeps almost 66 percents of the firm. She has confirmed already earlier that she negotiated about sale of her share. Remaining 34,2 percents are kept by farmers by means of a dairy association from Sněžné.
