Customers are interested in Czech garlic in spite of higher price
In front of many shops with fruit and vegetable in a region, a notice stands out with a large sign which announces - Czech garlic. Shop owners know well why to boast with such information. Customers are interested in Czech garlic. Also an owner of one of Pelhřimov shops with fruit and vegetable, Václav Černý knows it. “Customers are very interested in Czech garlic. We sell about ten kilos over one week”, Černý confirmed. Nor higher price deters people from a purchase.
MZe wants to provide flooded farmers with other 21 mil. CZK
The Ministry of Agriculture wants to provide other 21 million crowns for compensation of damages caused to farmers by extensive floods. MZe proposal for strengthening of these expenditures by transfer from the general cash administration will be negotiated by the government on Wednesday. A spokeswoman of the MZe Tereza Dvořáčková communicated it. The sum essential for elimination of damages, caused on agricultural property by floods in May and June last year, was quantified to 234.6 million crowns in total.
Farmers prepares own draft law against bureaucracy
Farmers prepare a rise of own draft law which should reduce bureaucracy in Czech agriculture. For example, farmers mind unnecessary checks from the side of state authorities. A chairman of the Private Agriculture Association Josef Stehlík said it to journalists today. According to Stehlík, the prepared legislative material has a work name Law on reduction of administrative burden in agriculture and food industry. “Till this time we have been always waiting when changes were initiated by clerks, and we get an opportunity to comment on it”.
