Sellers on farmer markets cheat, ČOI found out

The most often insufficiency found out by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI) was use of uncertified scale. Nine sellers broke the Law on protection of consumer in that they did not keep weight of sold products or amount of beverages. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found out failures in a third of inspected sellers on farmer markets on which farmers and small-scale food producers offer their products. Sellers used for example uncertified measures or did not keep weight of bought goods. Jana Jelínková from the press department of ČOI said it to ČTK.

Income from occasional activity up to thirty thousand yearly will not be necessary to tax, minister of Agriculture enforced

A limit for exemption from tax on occasional activity and at the same time a limit from which it is necessary to declare this type of income will be increased from twenty to thirty thousand yearly. The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa applied an important remark on a draft law on income taxes. His amendment is a part of law changes in connection with an establishment of one collecting place. The government passed the amendment and agreed also an incentive of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Exposition of Regional foods at Země živitelka was visited by more than 80 000 people

Exposition of a project Regional food was one of the main events of this year´s 38th year of international fair trade Země živitelka (Earth Breadwinner). In total 43 regional producers in thirteen stalls of particular regions presented and sold winning products of this year´s and last year´s year of this competition. The exposition was visited by more than 80 000 people including the President Václav Klaus who together with the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa opened an operation of a new multifunctional pavilion T1 in which the exposition was placed.

Amount of stum apples will be less by half; prices could increase

The amount of stum apples will be roughly by a half less this year than in last years. It could bring fruit-growers an increase in redemption prices which move now about 2.50 crowns for kilogram. A reason of lower apple crop is spring frosts owing to which the apple harvest will be the lowest over several last years this year. A chairman of the Fruit-Growing Union of the CR Martin Ludvík said it to ČTK. He estimated that with full start of harvest the stum apple price could get over three crowns for kilogram and approximate the last year´s price which was as much as 3.50 CZK for kilogram.
