Lists of substances will perhaps be in public notice instead of law on biocides
Obviously, lists of active substances will not be included in the law on biocides. According to a draft amendment approved by the Chamber of Deputies today, it will be contained in a public notice issued by the Ministry of Health. The aim of government bill is to simplify the official routine. It aims to be judged by the Senate. Biocides are used to destroy pests and weeds in agriculture. There are about thirty in the law supplements.
EU works on calling back of ban of animal flour
A release of strict ban of animal protein feeding in the EU is again any closer. Ten years after occurrence of the first case of BSE in Germany and adoption of the ban of feeding of protein of animal origin to farm animals, a discussion on re-licence of feeding of these proteins leaked also in the European Parliament.
Decline of meat import in Russia is expected
Russia will to strengthen protection of its meat market in the future. According to suggestion of Russian Ministry of Agriculture and Economy, meat import should decrease in 2012. It will concern above all pig meat; from 600 000 - 650 000 t in 2011 to 350 000 t in the mentioned year 2012. Takings of poultry meat from abroad should decrease only by 20 000 t, so to330 000 t. In the interest of domestic meat producers, import custom duty and customs quotas works for protection of Russian market. Beyond framework of certain amount it is possible to get at such a level of assessed custom duty which practically disabled import.
EU will allow import of Egyptian vegetable
A ban of vegetable import from Egypt owing to the epidemic EHEC should be called back soon. The EU is going to allow import of Egyptian vegetable which was forbidden after the epidemic caused by EHEC. According to Agra Europe, experts from European Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) did not find out any objections during their inspection journey cross Egypt.
