Šumava municipalities will grow rich. Minister wants to give them land

Šumava municipalities would grow rich by extensive land relatively soon. A draft of new law on National Park Šumava, prepared by the Minister of Environment Tomáš Chalupa, counts on that local town hall will obtain hundreds of hectares of state land. “Parcels in administration of the Land Fund of the CR situated in the third zone of the national park will have been transferred to touched municipalities of the national park by one year since coming into force of this law”. It is states in till this time unpublished draft which Aktuálně.cz succeeded to gain.

Research: Czech prefer domestic foods

Every second inhabitant of the Czech Republic prefers foods of domestic provenance. It results from a research elaborated for the Ministry of Agriculture by an agency I.N. Global. Its results show that 67 % informants in shopping are interested in the food origin more than before, whereas consumers with higher education and seniors are interested more in local products. “More than 95 % interviewed welcome that producers use logos with marking of regional foods because it enables them to orientate better in shopping.”

Fuksa: In flood-prevention we will be supported more by research results

The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa in cooperation with the Amelioration and Land Protection Research Institute (VÚMOP) introduced instruments in fight against soil erosion. The erosion endangers almost 45 % of the total acreage of arable land in the Czech Republic. According to analyses, in the worst possible scenario it can damage as many as 21 million tones of land yearly which can be expressed financially as a damage for 4.3 milliard crowns. The main recommendations are e.g. do not grow dangerous crop-plants on places endangered by the erosion.

Strategy of European Commission for 2050 focuses on energy sector

According to draft communication of the European Union, to reach low-carbon economy by 2050 it will be necessary to make drastic steps. The biggest decrease in green-house gas emissions should happen in the energy sector. The draft communication of the European Commission indicates that for reaching of the low-carbon economy by 2050 it will be necessary to make drastic steps. The Commission counts on that the biggest decrease in green-house gas emissions will happen in the energy sector. By 2030, emissions should have been reduced by 54 - 68 % in comparison with 1990; by 2050 then by 93 - 99 %.
