Agrofert wants to strengthen position in forestry by purchase of Uniles

Agrofert holding of the entrepreneur Andrej Babiš wants to strengthen its position in the areaof forestry. It announced to the Antimonopoly Office an acquisition of a company UNILES in Rumburk. The Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) started an administrative proceeding. ČTK found it out on its web pages. Agrofert is going to gain an exclusive control of Rumburk firm. ÚOHS judge in the proceeding an area of sale and processing of raw wood, sawn wood production, sale of poured materials, complex forestry services, and sale of slaughter cattle. ÚOHS has already approved several acquisitions this year. The group entered the forestry area by a purchase of a group Wotan this year. According to available information, Agrofert bought eighty-percent share in České Budějovice companies Wotan Forest, a.s., Wotan Forest Service, a.s., and in a firm ALFA Plywood, a.s. from Solnice in the region Rychnov.

Farmars will perhaps gain a possibility to buy land on hire-purchase

Czech farmers could gain back a possibility to buy the state land in a hire-purchase system. Also a proposal by a representative and vice-chairman of the parliamentary agricultural committee Jiří Papež (ODS) counts on it. The committee will deal with the proposal at its Wednesday meeting. The Land Fund of the CR stopped to sell land on no-interest hire-purchase at the end of June. According to the European Commission, this form of sale represented a hidden public support from the state side. Papež suggests so that part payments of farmers included newly also an interest calculated conformable with Union regulations.

Interest in stum production in region Ústí is huge

Stum manufactories and fruit distilleries in the region Ústí go fully now. An interest in extracted apple juice grows fast in recent years. Hereat, the stum thanks to conservation possibilities has not to be drunk up in a short time after production, but it keep fine even two years. Stum manufactory operators, addressed by ČTK, have enough of customers. However, a fruit crop in the north Bohemia is similarly as in the rest of the Czech Republic one of the lowest over the last several tens of years. It was influenced, above all, by spring frosts and later also hails.

Price of carps for Christmas table will perhaps not rise. However, it will be clear after haul

Most of south-Bohemian fisheries will not most probably increase prices of carp for Christmas table. Fishermen, thanks to weather, have not had significant losses. However, it will be clear in half of October after a haul of large ponds. People will be able to buy fish at hauls for the public on pond dikes or on fish-ponds. The biggest fresh-water producer in Europe, Rybářství Třeboň, a.s., produces yearly about 3 200 tonnes of market fish, of that 2 200 tonnes is hauled in the autumn, predominantly carps. “Every year when we are not affected by floods is good for us. Owing to climatic influences we did not have any losses this year”, a director of the company Josef Malecha told.
