Minister participates in meeting of Council of Ministers in Luxembourg

The Minister of Environment Tomáš Chalupa leads a delegation of Czech Republic which participates in the 3118th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the EU in a formation of ministers of environment in Luxembourg today. The Council has on a programme a preparation of the 17th meeting of Conference of contractors, frame arrangement of the UNO on climatic change, and the 7th Meeting of contractors of Kyoto protocol.

New attachment of law presents arable land for industrial halls gratis

Ecological organizations criticize an appendix which would enable to take fields and open landscape for building of halls in industrial zones free of charge. An obscure insertion supported by some representatives is a part of so called complex amendment to the law on supported energy resources. It should be vote about it at October end. On the page 42 of the mendment, there is at first sight unobtrusive paragraph referring to a change of law on protection of agricultural land fund. However, according to ecologists it will influence two thirds of cases of land conquests. The attachment enables so that it would be preferable to take fields for building of halls in industrial zones which grow in outskirts. Newly, developers should not have to pay for arable land conquest at all.

Despite decrease in prices in world foods will not obviously cheapen in Czech Republic

In the next month, it is not possible to expect from food producers decrease in food prices despite the fact that on Thursday published prospect of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UNO predicts a decrease in prices on world markets in the close future. The decline in the Czech Republic will be disabled above all by a planned January growth of value added tax rate in foods, they warned. Some analysts admits a decrease in food prices, however, decisively, it should not be significant. “Food prices will always develop from prices of inputs and raw materials. Since VAT will be increased from January, also prices of raw materials will logically raise”, a spokeswoman of the Food Chamber Dana Večeřová said to ČTK. “Under these circumstances it is hardly possible to speak about preservation or even decrease of prices”, she pointed out.

Discussion on possibilities of cooperation between CR and SR in area LEADER took place in Přelouč

A strategic document National Networks of Local Action Groups (NS MAS) of the Czech Republic to the future of a method LEADER after 2014 was introduced in the framework of informal negotiation on the 8th October in Přelouč. The meeting participants, including the country representatives, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Juraj Chmiel, the state secretary of Slovak Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Gabriel Csicsai and the chairman of the National Networks MAS of the CR František Winter discussed also possibilities of cooperation of MAS of the CR and SR with support of national networks for rural development. They also acquainted themselves with examples of good practice in project administration by the method LEADER.
