Agriculture in Vysočina will miss agronomists and zootechnicians

Farms of traditionally agricultural Vysočina will miss experts in the closest future - mainly agronomists, zootechnicians and mechanization experts. Many people at these positions are getting near to pension age. Meanwhile it look like that there is nobody to replace them,agricultural experts, addressed by ČTK, told. According to Agrocensus investigation, roughly a quarter of 15 000 of permanent employees was at age 55 years and older. Vice versa, 6 percents of them were to 24 years.

Rabbit meat quality

In terms of obtaining of rabbit meat of the optimal quality, domestic rabbit breeding with following aging and culinary processing in fresh state is ideal. Traditional small-breeding production of rabbit meat is in Slovakia gradually completed with production from intensive breedings of broiler rabbits. Rabbit meat does not have in its consumption use any limitation. Thanks to high digestibility, a low content of cholesterol and fat it is suitable mainly as a source of full-value nutrition for people in advanced age and for convalescents.

New system of administration of SZIF applications for subsidies save money and time

The State agricultural Intervention Fund successfully introduced and verified a new administration system of Applications for subsidies which was test-introduced in two measures of the 13th round and areal-applied in all measures of I. and III. axes of Rural Development Programmes in frame of the 14th round of reception of applications. The new system of administration consist in a principle when on base of financial means allocated to endowment measures and preferential points, which particular application obtain, a list of recommended projects and substitute-projects is set together. Only these applicants, who have a real chance for success in allotment of the required subsidy, are asked to submit needed documents (attachments to the Application for subsidy).

EU tightens up conditions for rice import from China

Products from rice imported from China will be checked more severely for admixtures in GMO unauthorized in the EU. Rice products in import from China to the EU till the next decision will be more severely checked. The reason is admixtures of genetically modified organisms (GMO) unauthorized in Europe. As Union authorities announced, an extent of contamination is not known. GM rice of not one line is allowed in the EU for the present, neither as a food nor as a feed. According the Commission there is still risk of further contamination. Imports have to be tested to as many as 26 various GMO.
