Parliament approved senate version of amendment about endangered species

The Parliament agreed with senate adjustments of the amendment about endangered species of animals today which among others sets up rules of trade with seal products. The senate version was supported also by the Minister of Environment Tomáš Chalupa (ODS). According to him senators removed from the bill some duplicate provisions in relation to the law on criminal responsibility of firms. Moreover, they added in the amendment a missing reference to issue of implementing regulation about packing plant of caviar, even though there is none on Czech territory for the present. The amendment should enable the Ministry of Environment also to determine a price list of care for animals seized to smugglers in form of public notice. The notice is about to set, how much care for individuals of such species in a rescue center cost per day

Czech sugar export has almost ended during five years

Foreign trade with agricultural and food products was last year roughly by a third higher than five years ago. Commodities like wheat, milk and milk products which helped quite to moderate the total debts of trade balance in the branch, prevailed in export. Almost a half of foreign trade in the branch was created by completed food and tobacco products and alcoholic beverages in the monitored period. The branch keeps a share in the total turnover of foreign trade which moves roughly between four and six percents. The deficit moved in price expression between 24 to 35 milliard crowns.

FAO: World food prices slightly decreased on in November

World prices of food commodities thanks to sugar price reduction slightly generally decreased last month and are about ten percents below maximum from the beginning of this year. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UNO stated it today. The FAO forecasts a record production of cereals for this year. The FAO food price index decreased by one point to 215 points during November. The index measures monthly movements of prices of cereals, oil plants, milk products, meat and sugar. In February, the index increased to a record maximum 238 points which invoked fears from growth of world inflation and arise of other food crisis which hit the developing world already in 2008. However, prices stabilized in the spring and they gradually decrease since that time.

South-Bohemians are capable farmers

South Bohemia is traditionally an agricultural and ecologically-oriented region. Within nomination of a directress of a newly emerging Regional Administration of the region South Bohemia of the CR Jana Sedláčková it was reminded by a chairwoman of the Czech Statistical Office Iva Ritschelová. At the same time she introduced this main partner for cooperation at the regional South-Bohemian level to the region hetman Jiří Zimola. Moreover, she drew attention to important regional outputs which the office provides and which the state administration and private institution can use with trust for their planning. It is dealt with data from mapping of unemployment development, through development of the branch in the region to a price growth.
