Canada face legal action owing to retraction of signature of Kyoto climatic treaty

A withdrawal Canada from a climate protection treaty is illegal. A Canadian professor of law and a former representative, who takes action against Canadian government, affirms that. The news was brought by the agency Reuters. Daniel Turp, who professes law at an university, asserts that the present Canadian government breached laws of the country by the fact that it decided to withdraw Kyoto treaty without foregoing consultation with the parliament. The Minister of Environment Peter Kent declared in half of December that Canada would become the first country which would use its right and withdraw the agreement on reduction of green-house gas emissions. Thanks to that Canada will save almost 14 billion American dollars. Canada undertook to reduce emissions of green-house gases by 6 % in the period 2008 – 2012 against the level in 1990. However, in the fact, Canadian emission increased almost by 30 %.

Limitation of cereals export from Russia

In case of reaching of upper limit, an export duty will be imposed on cereals export. In connection with this measure a press service of Moscow government warned exporters against closure of contracts for excessive-large cereals deliveries. According to words of Vladimír Putin, interventions on the cereals market in till this time usual form in the period 2011/12 are no more planned, but for the first time the producers will have a possibility to get back the goods later thanks to the state purchase. Therefore the Ministry for Economic Development preferred an eventual limitation of export, but by development of cereals prices on the domestic market as a deputy minister Andrej Klepač stated. Nevertheless, the ministry put forward its calculation of flexible export duties which should change in dependence on the price development on the world markets.

Czech Republic has to rely on food import

When the forefather Čech climbed with his crowd on the mountain Říp, he enthused how the landscape around is rich in milk and honey. But, it used to be. Today, Czech countries could also teem with various foodstuffs, but a big part of them has to be imported now because farmers do not produce sufficient amount of them. The Czech Republic got rid of food self-sufficiency during the last years. “Our governments with their in-the-long-term weak agricultural policy blithely got rid of food self-sufficiency where we had reached to some 67 – 70 percents”, the president of Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba stated. The number of kept farm animals has significantly decreased in the last twenty years. The most marked this reduction is in pigs when the Czech Republic got at the post-war level from the year 1946. At that time, 1.7 million pigs were bred on our territory, so almost the same amount as in the last year.

Veterinarians caught second delivery of eggs from objectionable cages

The State Veterinarian Administration (SVS) has caught a delivery of more than 200 000 eggs from Hungary owing to well-grounded suspicion that they come from hens kept in so called unenriched cages. Their use in the EU is forbidden since beginning of this year. Veterinarian will order to liquidate the delivery or possibly to send back to Hungarian exporter. A directress of the Department of Communication of the Ministry of Agriculture Kateřina Böhmová stated it today.
