Program against IBR starts

At present time so called National curative program against IBR (an Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis) starts. A spokesman of the State veterinary administration CR (SVS) Josef Duben informed about it today. According to him this disease causes a decrease of efficiency. At present time especially our neighbours pay a big attention to it. “That's why SVS together with the Ministry of Agriculture wants to “easy life” to our farmers. It is dealt first of all with a possibility to trade with live stud animals”, explains Duben the project.

After 16 months of annual fall in August production of meat grew

After 16 months of annual fall in August production of meat without poultry meat grew compared to the same month last year by 1,1 percent to roughly 37 000 tons of slaughter weight. A cause was a rise of pig production by 2,7 percents to about 30 000 tons. On the contrary in beef meat the fall was by 5,4 percents to 6 900 tons. It results from data of the Czech statistic office. Prices of agricultural producers in August in slaughter bulls annually grew by 7,8 percents, pigs cheapened by 7,5 percents.

Foreign trade of CR with food

Leading export commodity are products from milk, sugar, cereals and beverages. The biggest share of export is made by fruit and vegetable, coffee, tea and spices. Globalization happens on the Czech market. In 2004 many changes came about in food industry sphere, some of which is mentioned here.

Bio-food of year is ferment bread from firm Albio

The title “Czech bio-food of 2005” for ferment bread and pastries was taken over by husband and wife Jan and Hana Zemanovi who operates a bio-bakery Albio in Prague. Tom Václavík from the agency Green marketing informed about it today. A special jury in the fifth year of competition, which is announced by the Nadace Partnerství (Foundation Partnership) in cooperation with the association of ecological farmers Pro-bio, according to Václavík bestowed besides the main award also three honourable mentions. The last-year prize-winner, Josef Sklenář from Biofarma Sasov, obtained it for a “continuation and enlargement of quality meat bio-program”.
