Scandal in China. Owing to cabbage sprayed with formaldehyde

Other food scandal frightened Chinese consumers. This time, its subject was one of the main components of Chinese diet: cabbage which some vegetable producers spray with formaldehyde in order to remain fresh during transport. According to New China this practice is common in east China throughout many years.

Biouherák – Czech bio-food of the year 2004 endangered!

Although it does not seem, already eight years have passed since Czech bio-food of the year was bestowed to Biouherák (bio-sausage). A bio-farm Sasov of Josef Sklenář has sold almost one hundred thousand of pieces of this durable fermented salami of the highest quality class since that time. Many people know under what war conditions Biouherák came into being. Therefore, the appraisal was a big satisfaction at that time.

Veleba: MF promised farmers compensation for cancellation of green diesel

The state could compensate a loss from planned cancellation of so called green diesel to farmers in other way. After today´s negotiation with the Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Kalousek it was said by the president of Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba to ČTK. Kalousek promised him reputedly that he could have taken into account the cancellation of this support in other form in budget compilation for the next year.

10 pct of bees died in winter, weather is favourable to bee-keepers this year

Only ten percent of bee colonies did during the winter in the Czech Republic which is a normal state. A vice-chairman of the Czech Bee-keepers Union Miloslav Peroutka said it to ŤK. It is dealt with an estimation; bee-keepers have not had exact numbers yet. This year´s weather is favourable to beekeeping till this time, despite the fact according to Peroutka this year´s production of honey will hardly exceed the last year´s one which was record.

NKÚ filed complaint against Lesy ČR. Reason? Secret

The state enterprise Lesy ČR faces a complaint from the side of the Supreme Audit Office (NKÚ). It was stated by Czech Television referring to the vice-president of NKÚ Miroslav Kala. However, Kala refused to speak about details owing to a vow of silence. The complaint is a consequence of an inspection done earlier by NKÚ in the enterprise.
