All over Europe “recycled” rotten cheeses with worms were sold

In last two years 11 thousand tons of rotten or outdated cheese, whose Italian as well as European producers get rid of, were “recycled”. The recycled rotten cheese was used in new cheese products, an Italian daily La Repubblicainforms in Friday issue. Forty large enterprises from Italy as well as from Great Britain, Germany and Austria do not liquidate the outdated cheese but sold them to four companies headed by a Sicilian entrepreneur. Three of them is settled in Italy and one in Germany.

Sewing area of cereals has enlarged slightly in Olomouc region

This year farmers from Olomouc region will harvest cereals from a bit bigger area than last year. Cereals grow on 111 479 hectares this year; last year their sawing area was by about 400 hectares smaller. It results from data published by the Czech Statistic Office today. Harvesters already went on fields in last days; meanwhile they cut perennial barley. Harvest will start fully in three to four weeks. Almost a half of sawing area of cereals in Olomouc region takes perennial wheat which grows on almost 51 000 hectares. The second most important crop in the region remains spring barley which farmers sewed on more than 40 200 hectares. In case of perennial wheat the sewing area increased year-on-year; area of spring barley is a bit smaller this year.

NWR stocks "were burned" by low coal prices

An intense cheapening of coal sent NWR stocks the lowest from their entry on stock market. Prague stock exchange ended on a half-year minimum. While prices of rock oil increase to new records, coal fell the hardest in three last years. Prague stock exchange reacted also to this decrease – stocks of mining company NWR fell by 10,3 percents to 456,5 crowns for stock during yesterday´s trading, the most at all from their May entry on the exchange. Also due to falling NWR stocks index of PX exchange close on the lowest value in last six months, on 1441, 4 point.

Cooperation with Germany in protection of environment continues successfully

Already the 9th meeting of the Common Czech-Germany Commission for Environment ended in Pilsen today. Its aim was to evaluate a bilateral cooperation in particular areas of protection of environment. “Except a presentation of priorities of coming Czech presidency in the EU Council we talk with German colleagues also about air pollution in border areas, waste management, cross-border nature conservation as well as water protection”, described the first deputy minister of environment Jan Dusík leading the Czech delegation. His opposite was a parliamentary state secretary of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Michael Müller." German side told us that it does not support building of other floating degrees on Elbe and activities on Czech sides it regards with displeasure”, Dusík said.
