Government approved program supporting purchase of agricultural land

The Cabinet supported a proposal of program Purchase Land Support on today´s meeting which will enable farmers to draw subsidies for credit interest for purchase of non-state agricultural land from the Subsidiary and Guarantee Rural and Forestry Fund (PGRLF). The proposal was put forward to the government by the Minister of Agriculture Jakub Šebesta. The submitted program connects a program Land in which farmers could apply for granting of aid till this year´s September 30. A supposed volume of grant for the program amounts 34 million crowns.

Butter is more harmful than hardened margarines

So called bad fats which cause serious heart disease have finally and almost completely disappeared from margarines. However, they are still used in long-life pastry, whipped creams in sprays, ice creams and others, above all full-cream milk products. And, what it is dealt with in fact? With fats in which owing to hardening (so called hydrogenation of fat) harmful trans-unsaturated fatty acids (TFA) arise. Than they increase a level of “bad” cholesterol in blood and vice versa decrease a level of the right one which can very negatively affect our heart-vessel system.

Agricultural Union objected to declaration of Union of Marginal Areas

On the 19th of November 2009, the Union of Marginal Areas (further only SMO) issued a press release in which it declares that an aim of the Agricultural Union of the CR is to pay off payments for nonexistent cattle. This information as well as other in this press release is purposefully distorted. The Agricultural Union defends a determination of the maximal sum from national supplementary payments TOP-UP for ruminants which is realized in the current proposals of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Representative of European Commission unified Czech farmers

On Thursday afternoon, November 12, a meeting of monitoring committee of the Rural Development Program (PRV) took place. Several positive small changes for next 9th round, which will come through in February 2010, were approved. It will not be necessary to put forward and fulfill a financial health in all measures. This is positive first of all in the time of crisis. Anyway, the financial health will be examined by a bank which approves an investment credit. Further, it will be possible to submit an application electronically through the portal Farmář, and codes of recognizable cost will be further simplified. Recognizable costs were enlarged, for example in animal production it will be possible to insert cadaver destructors.
