SZPI checked packaged baguettes, all 40 samples passed test
The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZIP) did not find any serious deficiencies within checks of packaged filled baguettes and buns. Inspectors concentrated especially on sanitary conditions in storage and sale, and correctness of information on labels. None of 40 samples was evaluated as objectionable, a spokeswoman of the inspection Martina Šmídtová said to ČTK today. The inspection examined tens places in last days where baguettes are sold.
Moravian wines enchanted world, specialists appreciated them
A quality of Moravian wines was appreciated by world experts. Moravian wines won four big golden, three golden, and five silver medals in a prestigious foreign competition Terravino. The competition took place in Israel. In total, 550 wines from 30 countries entered the competition. Moravians struggle for success with 45 samples of inland wines. 14 samples of them came off medals. “After three-day classification on points by members of jury from 11 countries, the Czech Republic can boast with 14 prizes from 45 samples of Moravian wines”, sommelier Dr. Luboš Bárta comments the results.
Harvest was good, in spite of that hard year will comes
“We gets in a similar situation as for example farmers who are concentrated on milk production. We sell for prices which are often lower than for which we grow apples”, Dušan Kokoška, a director of Sady Životice tells after this year´s harvest. According to him this year´s harvest was similar as the last year´s one. “We harvested roughly 1,6 thousand tons from orchards. We left about two hundred tons of apples on trees; they were somehow damaged and we will not succeed to sell them within the present situation on the market”, Kokoška specified.
Specialists: Bio-foods are healthier than classically produced foods
Bio-foods are more valuable as for nutrition and contain less undesirable substances than foods produced from raw materials coming from conventional agriculture. It result from conclusions of a research project QLIF on which 31 European research centers, companies and universities worked in years 2004 – 2009. Its results were presented by top experts at organic agriculture in Prague today. They denied in July hyped study of British scientists according to which bio-foods are not healthier than the normally produced.
