Ministry of Agriculture distributed subsidies in height of almost 42 billion crowns last year

41.8 billion crowns in total were allotted to farmers by the Ministry of Agriculture in framework of various programmes in form of direct payments, national grants, the Programme of Rural Development and Support of Forest and Water Resources Management in 2010. Farmers got money mainly as a payment on area; also flood-protection barriers and sewage clarification plants, bio-gas stations and roads were built for them.

CULS hosted conference on common agricultural EU policy

A reform of the Commons Agricultural Policy of the EU after 2014 was a topic of a half-day conference with participation of the Deputy-Minister of Agriculture Juraj Cmiel, the president of Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba, the chairman of Private Agriculture Association Josef Stehlík, the chairman of directorship Agrofert Holding Andrej Babiš and others. The conference, which took place on the 29th of March 2011 in a full assembly hall of CULS, was opened by the rector of university, prof. Ing. Jiří Balík, CSc., who pointed out a historical closure of agricultural problems and the CULS which had dated since nineteenth century.

Foundation of World Agricultural Platform and Declaration from foundation negotiation of World Farmers´ Platform

Regarding necessity to secure sufficient amount of food, farmers from all over the world have united to create an organization and prepare a common declaration. More than 50 national agricultural and farmer organizations and cooperatives from all over the world met in Brussels today to found the World Agricultural Platform and issue a common declaration which defines its aims. The platform represents a uniform voice of farmers and agricultural cooperatives from all over the world.

Vain search of firms which produce only from Czech meat

The Agrarian Chamber (ACH) has not succeeded in an intention presented at the February beginning to create an internet database of firms selling exclusively Czech meat. The overwhelming majority of addressed sellers were not been reputedly able to guarantee that they sell only products from domestic raw material. The discussion about marking of origin of imported foods was raised by an affair from this year´s beginning when test proved carcinogenic dioxin in pig meat from German farms. According to the president of Agrarian Chamber, Jan Veleba, the Chamber wanted at first to created pilot project in the region Hradec and Pardubice, however, the effort has failed.
