Check system protect Czech Republic from imitations

A consequential check system operated by the State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) prevent an imitation of beer with Protected Geographical Indication (CHZO) Czech beer by producers above all from abroad. At present, this CZO is used by 9 breweries for 46 beers which is 56 % of the beer market in our country, and this number will increase. SZPI realizes checks partly in brewers who want to use CHZO Czech beer newly, and partly it check up breweries which have already had CHZO whether they really meet the set conditions.

Belgium forbade castration of piglets without anesthesia

From the next year it will not be possible in Belgium to carry out a surgical castration of piglets without anesthesia; from 2018 it will not be possible to carry out anesthesia at all. From the 1st of January 2012 in Belgium it will be forbidden to carry out piglet castration without anesthesia as the Union of Belgium Slaughteries and Cutting Rooms (FEBEV) informed in it s press release. The Union so honoured its promise from the last year that it would put through stopping of surgical castration without anesthesia from 2012. From 2018 the piglet castration will be forbidden completely.

Battle before reform of Common Agricultural Policy after 2013 was started by Agricultural Union

The Agricultural Union assaults ecological farmers. It taxes them with a support rate and points out an alleged inefficiency of subsidy spending. “Some statements we can nobly overskip, however, similar manifestations and reports can not be disregard. It is obvious that representatives of the Agricultural Union and ecological farmers feel the landscape, let alone the agricultural one which nourishes them all, completely differently. I understand fully that with the reform of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2013 also an aggression towards ecological farmers will grow; nevertheless, aggressors have to count on that we will not leave it without any response”, Kateřina Nesrstová, a manager of PRO-BIO Union of Ecological Farmers commented.

Roughly two milliard crowns can go for reparcelling this year

The state will be able to invest almost two milliard crowns in reparcelling this year which is roughly the same sum as last year. A spokeswoman of the Ministry of Agriculture Tereza Dvořáčková said it to ČTK today. According to her, at the last year´s end within reparcelling, ecological measures were built up on more than 1100 hectares, erosion-protection and flood-protection measures together on other more than one thousand hectares, and also more than 1700 kilometers of roads came into being.
