Farmers fights by rubber boots against contracts with dairy works in Brussels

Farmers showed again dissatisfaction in Brussels. The demonstrated during meeting of ministers of agriculture of the European Union. They want in this was to stop milk market reform which European twenty seven prepares. It concerns agreements among the farmers themselves and large milk producers; they should be obligatory. However, farmers have a far that they will be force to decrease buy-out prices and no one will stand up for them. Currently, the Union milk prices are influenced to a considerable degree by a quota system when every country can produced only a certain amount otherwise it will pay appreciable fines.

Reports on state of agriculture and forest management over 2009

The Minister of Agriculture Jakub Šebesta put forward the Report on the state of agriculture of the CR over 2009 and the Report on state of forest and forest management of the Czech Republic in 2009 at yesterday´s meeting of the government. From the first mentioned report it results that agriculture production showed a significant decrease in 2009 against 2008, by 18.1 %. Plant production decreased by 18.3 % and animal production by 18.9 %. Price development of agricultural producers was very unfavourable in 2009. In year-on-year comparison they decreased more significantly than the input prices in agriculture.

Czech Republic will be flooded by “food-automatic machines”. They endeared to farmers

Milk automatic machines were only a start. Farmers will allocate hundreds of automatic machines with various foods in the Czech Republic by connection of which they want to create automated shops. The present milk and milk products offer will face a fundamental enlargement. Already during the follofing months, the current offer of automatic machines will increase in such a way to maximally next year cover besides milk and milk products also fruit juices, plant oils, frozen and fresh meat, vegetable and other yet non-specified foods. At least one hundred of automatic “shops” should arise in a year which will offer all these foods together.

Beer in PET bottles is scores in Czechs; the supply is enlarged

The popularity of beer in plastic bottles grows in Czech customers. According to data of the Czech Beer and Malt Association, its sale increased 45 times in the Czech Republic last year. Its increase is confirmed also by dealers. Breweries react to the demand growth and enlarge the supply of golden beverage in plastic. For example Czech brewery second, Pivovary Staropramen, informed today that it markets beer Braník newly packed in two-liter PET bottles. A year-on.year growth of sale of beer in PET bottles by tens of prcents was confirmed by spokesman of networks of supermarkets and hypermarkets Albert, Libor Kytýr. According to him, the interest in beer packaged in this way it biggest in summer.
