There is double of caraway fields in Vysočina thanks to price revival

An acreage of caraway fields in Vysočina almost doubled to 901 hectares this year. Last-year´s revival of buy-out prices contributed to that. According to the Czech Statistic Office, growing of this spice substantially increased also across the country. 23 percents of fields lie in Vysočina which produced traditionally the biggest amount of caraway in the Czech Republic. These days, the caraway harvest starts in the region Třebíč. Most of crop should have been indoors by this month end.

New spokeswoman of Ministry of Agriculture is Tereza Dvořáčková

Since today, a new spokeswoman of Ministry of Agriculture is Tereza Dvořáčková. It will replace in the function Dita Vrbová who have been the office spokeswoman since May. Dvořáčková worked already as the spokeswoman of the Ministry during the CR presidency in the ER Council in 2009. After its termination she worked in other position in the Ministry.

SZPI forbade Polish icecream

The State Agriculture and Food Inspection forbade sale of frozen cream with coconut in cocoa glaze Imperium kokos (a package 125 ml, date of expiration 8.6.2011) because laboratories had confirmed a presence of nuts whose content was not declared in the food composition. Nuts as well as all dry shell nuts (almonds, cashew, walnuts, hazel-nuts, cashew nuts, Brazil-nuts and pistachio etc.) belong among allergen components and as such they have to be marked in the food composition. Data on composition are of vital importance for person suffering from allergies from some components because they find only according to the composition whether can consume a certain food secure.
